Shenwei
Please note this guide is of August 2017, if something changes i will try to update it.
Why choose Shenwei?
- Shenwei can be played as tank or dps.
- In PVE Shenwei is normally preferred as tank, as now its the only class with taunts.
- In PVE Shenwei can also do reasonable dmg but it needs to be build for it and if you are the only Shenwei you still will have to tank.
- In PVP we are the best block bar breakers. Shenwei shines more in late game PVP yet in skilled hands its a great class.
Anyway this things are the easy road one can play they way one wants.
This guide will focus on a broader Shenwei, who does pvp and pve, so the stats grow is a little different to a pure PVE tank Shenwei.
Beginning for Shenwei
Since the patch many things changed.
If you are reading this guide you are probably with the english community on our recommended server.
First suggestion:
Ask nicely for the puppet on Weekend this will yield you 30 instance pages since you can get weekly 15 of 80 and 45 book this will be the easiest way to get the first 2 books. Alternatively you can do the normal dungeons but you will get only 4 pages per run until you hit your overall cap. Here i would also suggest first getting only 30 pages weekly for the 45 and 80 books. The overall cap is currently lifetime cap.
Second Suggestion:
Try finding new people to tank for. Its nice to be carried as Shenwei but you only learn tanking if you tank something with mechanics.
Third Suggestion:
Start to PVP early. Even though there might be bigger waiting times but don't get put off by having bad gear. I did this mistake and it took me much longer to learn.
Also now you can buy PVP T3 gear so doing at least your PVP Weekly will greatly benefit you.
Forth Suggestion:
Learn how to upgrade books with pages. Ask on Discord since this guide is already getting bigger than i wanted.
What to get:
T3 PVP gear, Skip T1 and T2. If you get T1 or T2 as drop you can craft it and wear it but don't enchant it or do anything else with it.
You can transfer only 1 thing from your old pvp gear to new so no point in updating T1 or T2 since July Patch 2017.
Get 1 liner for your PVP gear. In the beginning focus on accuracy 命中
The Lines will also benefit you in PVE.
T3 PVE you will get from Tower so Tower is a must here we are taking tank gear.
I suggest Tank gear even for DMG Shenwei since the books will make a huge difference. But if you like to be a glass canon and change out sets (i am lazy i admit) than feel free to take 天火 Sky Fire (dmg set).
Profession
Bellow are suggested professions depending on stats they give. Please be aware that the stats on first and second profession are relatively easy to max out but not on third. A chinese guide to which stats are given can be found >>here<<.
Books
80 book - 45 book - crit book - heal book
4th book give you an o-shit heal button and an o-shit heal when you drop low. The button can be combined with a pot heal.
Advanced Books
PVP
Till you get to around 30-35k hp in pvp you probably will have to put 80 book first, after that you can play around but i would suggest changing only 45 and 80 book spots.
PVE-Tank
You can either use PVP Set or this one. Here you have SW book second, it will give you slightly more hp.
Here you have on last spot the rage book for Ulti.
PVE-dmg
This Set is just rearrangement of the PVP books.
In this set on the last spot is the rage book. This way you can Ulti more often.
Don't forget that by changing position of the books you get different stats.
Skill Combos Chains to start with
Very Basic Combo
left click -> left click -> right click
5-hit Combos
skils in () can be put in between, depending on ping or what you want to do.
3 hits of 5-hit -> finisher -> (tututu) -> right click
4 hits of 5-hit -> air grab -> finisher -> (tututu) -> right click
Pro Combo very ping dependent:
3 hits of 5-hit -> finisher -> 4th hit of 5-hit -> air grab -> tututu -> right click
Blockbar breaker
tututu -> right click
Mini Super Armor
charge -> right click
there is a small window in which you can trick your enemy to stun you and as long he stays in range you can right click him and get out of cc.
Or you can put several skills in between.
charge -> finisher -> (tututu) -> right click
Counter
Not exactly a combo but useful both PVE and PVP
Counter -> forward roll
The difficulty here is that you need to roll at the end of the animation but before it end.
Profession
All of the professions are suggestions and its better to take the ones you like to do.
Runes
Round
Selected one is preferred. The Color doesn't matter but the preferred in Yellow normally are very expensive.
Square
Triangle
Meridians
As of writing this guide the PVP and Tank Meridians are the most commonly used. Depending on Boss the Tank Meridians for the Arrow can be set to blue for instant dash.
The DMG ones are my personal idea and not finished yet, they working pretty well for now.
Stats Priority
Short notices on stats:
Below Shenwei only. Hover over the stats to see what it increases.
PVP
PVE
In PVE things are a little different
Accuracy depends on the instance you go.
I suggest to try hit 230-250-270 asap for both tank and dmg SW.
Crit is as far i know capped at 120.
PVE Tank / DMG - personal suggestion
You might wonder why my tank and dd have same stats priority.
That because they need the same to survive or do dmg/keep agro BUT what pushes one further than the other is combination of books and runes.
External dmg and external defence can be upgraded through the Li/Strength attribute. Its only useful to add raw External Strength but not defense.

Divine Weapons (Work in progress)
The new addition to boosting your stats are the divine weapons.
Important to understand:
Divine weapon have 2 benefits. Raw stats from just clicking update button from item+little blue sea tokens and the passive bonus that is updated with purple tokens.
Purple Tokens + Stats benefit for Blue Weapons
If you are not at 300% accuracy than:
for pvp -> dong > li > gen > shen (guild drinks) > qi
for pve -> dong > li > gen > qi > shen (guild drinks)
if you have enough unbound gold and see tokens you can update shen in parallel to the first stats because the items drop from guild quest but if you are f2p player do NOT do this.
if you have 300% accuracy because you are returning player or whatever other reason you have so much
for pvp -> li > gen > dong > shen (guild drinks) > qi
for pve -> li > dong > gen > shen (guild drinks) > qi
Please notice its a basic outline and you can always switch to updating another weapon according to your needs.
Purple Divine Weapons
from top to bottom:
int + ext attack points (def stats, attack passive)
int + ext attack %
int + ext def points (attack stats, def passive)
int + ext def % (you get this ones from puppet)
- not out yet
health return (at least first stage)
If you can get to the first stage of health return one go for it! But don't focus on this book to madly.
Purple weapons are better for stats first, except you are a rich person
funny enough the stats and the bonus of the int + ext attack and def weapon are switched so if you want defensive stats you should put points in the attack book. Thats not the case for % weapons though.
Gold Divine Weapon
Cant say anything about this one, since way to expensive at the moment
Please note this guide is of August 2017, if something changes i will try to update it.
